In bringing awareness for the prevention of the coronavirus outbreak, Galaxy Pharmaceuticals donated N-95 face masks, surgical gloves and other materials worth K3 million to the Southern Region Police, at the headquarters in Blantyre.
The Galaxy Pharmaceuticals Business Development Head, Verinder Bali, attributed the donation to the company’s appreciation for the Police, who contribute so much to the communities. “Police officers work tirelessly in protecting the people, therefore the officers must also be protected by equipping them with materials that will avoid the spread of COVID-19 in the country.” said Bali. In agreement, the Southern Region Police Commissioner Sledge Yoosuf said that the items will not only protect the officers, but their families and people in general. “The officers are in contact with each other, the general public and their families, hence Galaxy’s protection of us is also the protection of the general populous” said Yoosuf.
The items donated were 1000 surgical gloves, N-95 face masks, two 25kgs HTH Chlorine, 1000 Epron and 10 5Litre Methylated Spirit, received by Southern Region Commissioner Sledge Yoosuf and his deputy. “These items will be distributed to police units, especially those posted at the borders in Nsanje, Mulanje, Thyolo, Mwanza, Neno and Chikwawa.” said Yoosuf, emphasizing that these locations are priority as they are the entry points into the southern region of the country.
However, Bali outlined that the donation, worth K3 million, has nothing to do with marketing and is aimed at bringing awareness about the prevention of the coronavirus. “We can all play a role in preventing the virus by washing our hands, social distancing and telling others to do the same”, said Singh.
Galaxy Pharmaceuticals is the direct importer and wholesaler of all the Pharmaceutical and Surgical items, also the sole distributor of NEO MEDIC U.K in the country as well as the distributor of NEM LABORATORY (INDIA).
