German Federal Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development, Gerd Muller, has said Berlin will looking into a partnership with Malawi towards boosting the country’s energy sector through bio-energy.
Malawi has been facing major energy challenges, a fact that even President Mutharika has admitted to, after urging Malawians to be patient with Escom and Egenco. Muller said he will try his best to draw investors into Malawi on the project. Should the development be implemented, Malawi will use biomass, wind, solar and or biomass, which will improve the Nations energy, therefore boosting the economy.
2018 was known as ‘the year of darkness’ as various regions experienced an average of 12 hour blackouts, which affected small, middle and large scale businesses alike.
