The Civil servants Trade Union (CSTU) has confirmed that the government is set to roll out a medical scheme for its members, as CSTU General Secretary Madalitso Njolomole said the pilot phase will commence with civil servants from Grade G to H.
The development follows as part of the union’s discussions with the government’s negotiation team, which saw Treasury inject K400 million in the 2020/21 national budget for this cause, which will launch this year in March.
“We are expecting the government to release a circular on the same by this week. We are going through the Covid pandemic and this is another booster for civil servants to use this as a medical tool. A lot of advantages will be elaborated after the circular is released,” said Njolomole.
