A statement by the secretary of government has mandated the use of face masks in all of its institutions. The secretary has signed that unless clients wear a face mask, they will not be served.
“Please take note that clients must ensure that the face mask covers the nose and mouth completely and it should not be lowered when speaking, coughing or sneezing” says part of the statement.
On the other hand, the Malawi Enterprise Development Fund has made wearing of masks within all MEDF offices mandatory at all times by both clients and members of staff. “ All staff and clients who will be unwilling to wear masks will not be served and will be politely asked to leave MEDF premises.” said part of the statement by MEDF.
Government has also insisted on strict measures such as washing of Hands with water and soap regularly and thoroughly or use of hand sanitizers to cover the nose and mouth when sneezing and coughing.
