The Green Belt Authority is expected to attract more local and foreign investors once the irrigation scheme projects are over.
The Authority’s spokesperson Maganizo Mazeze disclosed in an interview that the projects will offer investors value for money.
According to Mazeze the authority is currently working on developing massive irrigation schemes in Salima and Nchalo in Chikwawa district.
Mazeze said three of the projects will be used for the growing of crops for export market.
In the 2018-2019 financial year the Green Belt Authority was allocated One Point Five Billion Kwacha to carry out its programmes.
