The Electricity Generation Company of Malawi (Egenco) says it has resumed normal power generation, having cleared debris from Nkula and Kapichira hydropower stations.
Due to windy and heavy rains that kept pouring for almost a whole week, intake screens at the power stations were blocked which made Egenco resolve to shutting the machines down, reducing power generation from 351 megawatts to 161 MW.
Egenco has announced that power generation is now back to normal, while other works to increase the power supply are in the work
