The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi (Icam) said it plans to double its membership base in 2019.
Icam Chief Executive Officer Francis Gondwe said the institution made the resolve after noting a rise in total of registered members since December 2017. In other news, Gondwe revealed that there will be an exercise to check for accountants that have not yet registered with Icam, which is a violation of Section 24 of the 2013 Public Accounts and Auditors Act, which states that individuals of the profession must register with the Malawi Accountants Boards through Icam.
