Expectations for the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) international expo are high, as government has said the event will be beneficial for the ICT sector.
Department of E-Government Chief Director, Francis Bisika, said the expo is very significant to Malawi, as international players will bring knowledge from their countries. “Also, the government is reviewing the National ICT Policy of 2013. This expo will help us solicit suggestions on what to incorporate in the ICT Policy,” Bisika said.
ICT Association of Malawi President, Bram Fudzulani, encouraged stakeholders to participate in the expo to discuss with them on what they think Malawi should look like in terms of ICT development. “This is a platform for serious conversation to shape the development of ICT” said Fudzulani.
