The Malawi Department of Immigration and Citizenship services has announced that the online visa service for visitors to Malawi, will be launched on 1 November 2019.

The approaching Malawi online visa service will see applicants registering and logging on the e-visa platform. The statement outlines that once the application is approved, a notification is sent through an email and similarly on the login page where an approval document authorising entry into Malawi can be downloaded for use to facilitate the applicants travel  arrangements and endorsement of a Visa  sticker onto  the traveller’s passport at the port of entry by an immigration Officer.

The statement by the immigration department has disclaimed that Visa to Malawi only grants permission to the traveller to enter Malawi within the validity period of the Visa subject to fulfilling other entry requirements. On the other hand, the development has been welcome as innovative and convenient, provided the online services use a reliable network, for efficient services.
