The Minister of Industry Roy Kachale Banda recently visited Mpemba, on a site where an upcoming company called Mach Milk, will be producing powdered milk.
Mach Milk Company Director Madalitso Phiri said the firm is expected to buy fresh milk from over 5000 dairy local farmers and create employment opportunities for 200 people, as there will be 144,000 kilograms of milk powder output annually.
In appreciation of the progress that the company is making, the Minister of Industry Roy Kachale Banda, said the opening of this company is in line with the vision of the Tonse Alliance government to create more job opportunities for our youths. “…the government is committed to supporting the creation of both large and small and medium enterprises in our collective pursuit for a sustainable social and economic development of our country,” said the minister.
Mach Milk Company is expected to be in full operation by August this year.
