After prepaid meters were installed in St Mary’s, Old Naisi and Kalimbuka in Zomba, Southern Region Water Board will commence installment in other regions in May.
The SRWB’s Public Relations Officer Rita Makwangwala confirmed the development, adding that over K1bn has been invested in acquiring 5000 meters. She commended the payment method as an improvement for the board’s cash flow, considering that customers will pay upfront.
With disconnections happening upon lack of payment of bills, the new meters will serve as people to pay within their means and according to how much water their respected households can use.
