A statement by the High Commission of India in Lilongwe, has outlined that In view of the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic, International flights to and from India have been suspended.
“Govt. of India is facilitating the return of Indian
nationals stranded abroad in a phased manner starting from May 7, 2020.” says part of the statement, “This facility would be available on payment-basis to those Indian nationals who wish to return to India on compelling grounds. Only asymptomatic travellers would be allowed to board the flight and shall be kept under institutional quarantine for a minimum period of 14 days on arrival in India, at their own cost.”
Meanwhile, the statement has disclaimed that at this stage no evacuation flight for Malawi has been planned by the Govt. of India, while the Mission will update the information on its Website & Facebook page in this regard. “Other details e.g. flight plans, cost etc. will be shared in due course.” says the statement.
