As Dodma accounted that about K32bn will be needed to restore the lives of households affected by Cyclone Idai, various nongovernmental organizations and governments have been pulling together resources to give to the cause and recently Ireland has contributed K651 million in response to the flood victims.
The Irish Ambassador to Malawi Gerry Cunningnham, said in a statement that contribution is towards Shelter, water, sanitation to support health and nutrition for women and children.
“I am delighted that through our NGO partners our funds have provided an immediate relief to many of the affected families” said Cunnigham.
