The Top Employers Institute has awarded tobacco buyer, JTI Leaf Malawi, with the Top Employer 2020 Award, as revealed by the institute’s statement.
In the statement, the Top Employers Institute Chief Executive Officer, David Plink, said the award means that JTI provides the best working environment for employees through progressive people-first human resource practices.
Honored by the award, JTI Corporate Affairs and Communications Director, Limbani Kakhome expressed that the company indeed puts its employees first. Employees are at the core of our business and their welfare is of paramount importance. The Top Employers Institute has recognised our efforts and that gives us the zeal to work even better next year,” Kakhome said.
Currently JTI operates in 130 countries, has approximately 45, 000 employees as 1,400 people are employed in Malawi at the peak of every season.
