The Chinese Government has completed construction and has handed over the K188 million Nsipe Police Post in Ntcheu, received by Vice-President Saulos Chilima on behalf of Nsipe communities.
Chinese Ambassador Liu Hongyang outlined that the police post has cells, an administrative block, victim support unit, kitchen and officers’ houses. On the other hand, the ambassador also donated furniture, a refrigerator and five motorbikes to ease officers’ mobility.
In his remarks, Chilima thanked the Chinese Government for constructing the police post and called on the communities to have a good relationship with the police. “I appeal to Malawians, not only here in Ntcheu but everywhere, to cultivate good relations with the police. Police are there to serve you.” Meanwhile, the Malawi Police has been undertaking community policing exercises aimed at establishing a better relationship between the police and the community.
