The Minister of Transport and Public Works, Ralph Jooma, haas announced of the Ruo River bridge, which will have two lanes for road users and a separate railway bridge, costing K8 billion and will compete in 18 months.
Road Authority (RA) chief executive officer Engineer Emmanuel Matapa said Malawi Government, through Roads Fund Administration, will meet the cost of the project, which is part of the 82-kilometre Thyolo-Thekerani-Muona-Makhanga Road under construction.
Currently, Mota Engil is on the site, mobilising equipment and implementing the first phases of the structure.
