The National Construction Industry Council (NCIC) has signed consultancy services contract with Image Designs, the architects firm assigned to construct a K98 million office complex in Lilongwe.
NCIC Chief Executive Officer, Linda Phiri, said that the assigned architects will be responsible for quantity surveying, structure and civil engineering and mechanical and electrical engineering. She revealed that in total, the contract is for the sum of K98,052810 will be paid from the councils own resources.
On the other hand, Image Designs Team Leader, Architect Collins Kaunda outlined that the office will be built using a concept known as Green Building. “Use of non-toxic building materials when building, consideration of environmental good aspects at design, and construction would help the office complex buildings to adaptation to changing environment,” he said.
