During a tour by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism Francis Kasaila, the Leather Design Studio urged governments and its departments to buy its products.

The Malawi Enterprise productivity Enhancement project (Mepe) established the Leather Design Studio initiative as a means of providing local products, but Mepe will end in march, leaving the studio to stand on its own.

Attempting to tackle any foreseen problems, Mepe Manager Lemani Jusa, pleaded to the ministry for tenders in institutions such as Malawi Police Service, Malawi Defence Force, Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi and water boards.

Having a number of factories announced for completion in June 2019 and other large scale employment projects, the studio would definitely benefit it supplied products to these facilities.
