The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested former Lilongwe City Council Mayor Desmond Bikoko, for ordered the sale of land in Area 46 without following proper procedures. The bureau’s publicist Eggritta Ndala revealed that the Lilongwe Magistrates court has granted bail to the former after fulfilling all bail conditions.

The above was revealed in a statement that was released on Wednesday, adding that the court ordered Bikoko to surrender all travel documents and report to ACB offices on Monday’s fortnightly. Bikoko won the councillorship on an MCP ticket but he later ditched the party and joined the ruling the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP).

Meanwhile, according to officials from ACB, more arrests are expected for Lilongwe city council officials over the land issue.
