A fundraising lake cruise by Lions Club District 412B, which is inclusive of Malawi and Mozambique, has raised funds totalling over K2 million for Kamuzu Central Hospital (KCH) Paediatric Ward.
According to the Lions Club District 412B fundraising Chairperson, Stewart Munthali, over 120 people participated in the cruise, sailing from Monkey Bay to Cape Maclear via Salima, in the Chilembwe Vessel.
The cruise was themed ‘Helping little ones fight big battles and is aimed at supporting patients that suffer from childhood cancer at Kamuzu Central Hospital. The District Governor 412B (Malawi and Mozambique), Abraham George said will continue finding innovative ways to involve the society in more initiatives like these.
