Background
Petroda is a private limited company registered in Malawi 1998. Petroda Malawi commenced its operation in 1998 as being the 5th Oil Marketing Company in Malawi at the time and has proudly spread its wings with a network of 2 storage depots in Lilongwe and Blantyre and 26 retail service stations nationwide mainly serving the nation with quality refined white petroleum products and motor vehicle lubricants.
Petroda Malawi swiftly managed to grasp 22 % of the market share within a short period due to providing it commitment to its clients and better service throughout the nation.
Petroda Malawi is a member (shareholder) of Petroleum Importers Limited (PIL), which includes Puma, Total and Engen. A company set up in partnership with all major oil marketing companies in Malawi to achieve economies of scale for importation of petroleum products into Malawi.
Objectives and Obligations
1- To ensure maintenance of continuous and smooth supplies of petroleum products by way of refined petroleum products, transportation and marketing activities and to provide appropriate assistance to consumers to conserve and use petroleum products efficiently.
2- To further enhance marketing infrastructure and down strem network for providing assured service to customers throughout the country.
3- To maximize utilization of the existing facilities for improving efficiency and increasing productivity.
4- To achieve higher growth through integration and diversification by harnessing new business opportunities in petroleum products and downstream opportunities within Malawi and neighboring countries.
5- To inculcate strong ‘core values’ among the employees and continuously update skill sets for full exploitation of the new business opportunities.
6- To provide excellent and quality service to our customers and adequate returns to the employees, shareholders on the capital employed based on sound business
7- To contribute to the development of the country through the company’s social welfare activities and educational and health projects.

Petroda Fuel Department:
Petroda MW Limited Head Office is located in the country’s commercial city of Blantyre with a regional office in Lilongwe. Petroda MW has two fuel storage depots of total capacity of two million litres of fuel, one in Blantyre and the other in Lilongwe to supply fuel to the 26 retail filling stations distributed across the country, and to supply its bulks’ customers and filling stations across Malawi.
Petroda MW & Clients:
Petroda Malawi offers its services; both fuel supplying and haulage transportation, to various companies, government institutions and organizations. The list of clients includes IHB, Roshy Motors, Malawi Police service, Ethanol Company, Farmers World, Export Traders, CEAR, S.R. Nicholas, Terrastone Limited, Central Poultry, just to mention a few. Besides that Petroda MW has established retailing services attached to its filling stations and run by individuals.
Petroda M Haulage Department
Petroda M Haulage division works in transporting oil and general cargo the ports of neighbouring countries to Malawi, and within Malawi, besides distributing oil and oil-products to Petroda service stations and bulks’ clients across the country. The company maintains a fleet of around 48 fuel tankers of various capacities capable of hauling around 1.5 million of litres of oil. The company has also a fleet of 26 trucks for handling general cargo.
Petroda MW Real Estates:
Petroda MW has successfully invested in the real estate in Malawi. The company owns several state-of-the-art commercial buildings in the major two cities, some of which are currently being occupied by international organisations, EU mission, Japanese Embassy and government agencies.
Petroda MW Team
Petroda has a well-trained staff of above 300 women and men. In addition to this, Petroda Malawi employs indirectly more than twice of its official staff in the transportation and real estate sections and in the associated services at the retail outlets. With the rapid expansion of Petroda, the total number of both direct and indirect employees is expected to double in the coming years.
