Rab Processors Ltd was founded in 1983 by the Jakhura family, whose business activities in Malawi date back over eight decades.It is a leading player in the Agro Industry in Malawi and specializes in value addition and trading of locally grown produce.

From a small dhal processing company, Rab has over the years grown into a major force in the agro-processing industry in Malawi and has gained an enviable international reputation in this area of business. The company has a proud heritage of product innovation and commitment to delivery.  Our strength lies in our adaptability, giving rise to an unrivalled turnkey operations platform which actively supports the progress of our agricultural economy.

We have worked closely with Government and aid organisations for many years to help improve the quality of life of the underpriviledged and malnourished. We are ably supported by a 200 strong professional management team with a wide range of management, marketing and technical experience.

To maximise and add value to Malawi’s Agricultural outputs as well as to provide farm inputs and basic needs profitably to Malawi’s smallholder farmers and other customer groups in Malawi and globally.

Our Vision

We aim to be the principal provider of basic food and non-food products in Malawi and the Southern African Region:

•    by supporting Malawi’s smallholder farmers
•    by acting as a conduit between producers and global customers, thus promoting Malawi’s agricultural outputs to international markets
•    by drawing on the facilities and inputs available in developed African countries in order to synergise efforts to promote Malawian products

Rab Processors has been at the smallholder farmers’ side for over 27 years as they tilled Malawi’s soil, brought in their harvest and celebrated their yields. In that time Rab Processors had come to understand the smallholder farmers’ unique needs and have developed side by side in order to bring them a one-stop-shop on which they may rely for all their household needs.

Rab Processors hence developed and operates a nationwide network of over 60 rural outlets, Kulima Gold depots which are engaged in buying agricultural produce from farmers and in turn providing them with farm inputs as well as basic needs. This has relieved the farmers from the burden of travelling to major cities each time they needed to source something.

The agricultural produce sourced from smallholder farmers is processed at the company’s factories in Blantyre into fortifed and nutritious food products for distribution in Malawi and internationally. In order to cater to the basic household requirements of the smallholder farmers we supplement our product range by importing: salt, full cream milk powder, cooking oil, rice, fertilizer, yeast, roofing sheets, agricultural implements, various other agri-inputs, bicycles and micro solar products from around the world.
