During the fourth congregation of the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (Luanar), 1,328 graduates were called to be brave and establish start-up businesses to penetrate the industry.
Chief Education Officer Responsible for Higher Education in the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Rose Kalizang’oma, said that since the current economy does not have the capacity to absorb all graduates, they must create job opportunities for others by setting up sustainable businesses.
On the other hand, Luanar Vice Chancellor, George Kanyama Phiri, said the students were already equipped with entrepreneurial skills, as the University’s curriculum is set to instill a business culture in the students. “If they cannot find a job they should create one and employ themselves and others,” Phiri said.
