Illegal connection cases were in progress since July 2018, which after trial, have recovered K75.4m for Lilongwe Water Board.

LWB Public Relations Officer Maurice Nkawihe appealed to the general public to report any cases of illegal connections, offering a reward for their support.

Illegal connections deprive the board a massive water supply amounting to 25,000 cubic meters per month.
