Lilongwe Water Board (LWD) has revealed plans to invest K1bn in constructing a sediment trap to improve water supply in the city.

LWB has capacity to supply over 125,000 cubic meters to its catchment area, but supplies a maximum of 100,000. The sediment trap is expected to help curb this failure to meet a demand of 130,000 cubic meters.
