Lilongwe Water Board (LWB) won the Water Service Provider of the Year award, an accolade by the African Utility Week Industry Awards in Cape Town, South Africa. The award was also nominated to Umgeni Water, Hessequa Municipality and Ontec Systems.

The award, also won by LWB in 2017, has been an attribute of the board’s improved delivery of services in the last 2 years. From a prepaid metering system, developing a hydraulic model, opening a 24/7 customer call centre and many other developments, the award was well deserved.

LWB Chief Executive Officer Alfonso Chikuni said the award acknowledges the board’s efforts to ensure and provide quality water service to customers.
