Machinga District Council at Nsanama Market received a market shed worth K7 million, courtesy of the Local Government Accountability Performance (LGAP).
LGAP representative, Francisco Zuze, presented the structure to Machinga District Commissioner, Rosemary Nawasha, who called on the shed’s occupants to continue paying market fees and appealed them to move into the market shed so that the council could maximise on its revenue collection.
The market shed has been constructed with funding from the United States Agency for International Development, as LGAP partners to support Machinga District Council in the formulation of its District Development Plan and the Social Economic Profile.
