Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (Macra) presented K35 million worth of medical equipment to the Ministry of Health in support of the fight against the Covid pandemic.

The equipment was presented by Macra Board Chair Stanley Khaila who specifically presented 100 oxygen cylinders, and personal protective equipment (PPE) to Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (Qech).

In his remarks, Qech Director Samson Mndolo thanked Macra for the donation, noting that the hospital was receiving more patients everyday. The support by Macra follows President Lazarus Chakwera’s call for organisations, companies and individuals to contribute to the fight against the second wave of the pandemic.
