The Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS) has issued 134 certificates for various firms, approving them to trade.
The development has enabled the various business entities to operate with ease, knowing that the seal and certification by MBS is a requirement by keen consumers. “Nowadays, Malawians cannot buy a product which is not certified by MBS” said one of the certified, “they know that uncertified products are not safe for consumption”
Out of the 134 certified firms, 78 were renewals and 56 were new certificates. Malawi Bureau of Standards has been hailed for protecting consumers, marching against uncertified and poor quality products.
MBS Director General Symon Mandala urged companies to prioritize quality monitoring and certification services.
