All traditional authorities (T/As) in Mchinji have faced a scabies outbreak, as Mchinji District Hospital health promotion officer Owen Chataika has confirmed the news.

According to Chataika, the disease has mostly affected children, hence stating that communities must practise proper hygiene to prevent its spread.

“Scabies can be prevented by bathing with soap, avoiding sharing of clothes and bedding that are contaminated. Most importantly, seeking health services,” he said.
