In October 2019, a medical evacuation air service will be launched, as revealed by the Ministry of Transport and Public Works.
In a notice published by the ministry (in The Daily Times, Wed 29 May 2019), it as been revealed that Nyasa Air Charters (Malawi) Limited has applied to the ministry for the operation of medical evacuation services. The ministry has revealed the particulars of the application, in accordance with Regulation 8 of the Aviation (Air Transport Licensing) regulations. The application particulars show that Nyasa Air Charters (Malawi) Limited will be operating the evacuation services on the domestic and international route, from the 1st of October this year.
The services will run for one year, using the Pilatus PC 12/45 aircraft. The notice by the Ministry of Transport and Public Works reads, “Any presentation regarding the application, or objection hitherto, must be made duplicate, on or before 21 days from first publication, to Secretary of Transport and Public Works, Private Bag 322 Lilongwe 3”
