Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) put out a statement, reassuring the general public that the country continues to have sufficient supply of fuel and has strategies in place, for the security of fuel supply.
Amidst news of fuel trucks affected by cyclone Idai in Mozambique, the statement assures that there are alternate routes that are being used to keep supplying fuel. “Malawi has increased import volumes through Nacala and Dar-es-Salaam and has also activated the Harare route to ensure continued seamless supply of fuel in Malawi.” says the statement.
