Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) has launched an initiative to inspire afforestation in Primary schools. The “My School, My Tree” Program will see 5 primary schools planting 2500 tree seedlings, of which the school’s responsibility will be to water and weed them.

The winning schools will be awarded with 1500 notebooks for first place, 1250 notebooks for second winner and 1000 notebooks for third place.

Commending MRA for the initiative, Blantyre District Forestry Officer Geoffrey Kanyerere remarked that conservation of nature is means of curbing deforestation.
