The Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA), in collaboration with the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) have apprehended three individuals for offering a sum of K10,000,000 for MRA to erase a tax evasion case.

According to a released statement by ACB, the individuals, Mr. Yousef Abdul Khalek Nassour and his accomplices Kashif Gilbert and Abbas Nasser were about to bribe the MRA Manager, but the Police were alerted and the three were arrested after the money was handed in.

Kashif Gilbert and Abbas Nasser will be charged with with aiding a corrupt practice, contrary to Section 35 of the Corruption practices act. It has been reported that the three had applied for bail but the request had been denied.
