Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) has seized smuggled sugar, lamenting the problems caused by such crimes.

In a press statement, MRA outlined that the accused parties did not have the required Sugar Importation License, hence they will be dealt with accordingly.

Smuggling Sugar may lead to low sales of local sugar manufacturers and deprive the government of taxes for development projects.
