Figures on a weekly stock market analysis report show that the Malawi Stock Exchange (MSE) is still posting share price drops as seen in reviewing the week from 3/04/2020 – 9/04/2020.
The report by Alliance Stockbrokers has shown that the week in review had “partial bearish sentiments”. with a 0.38% loss in the market index closing at 29 064.79 points. According to the report, the loss was attributed to a 2.85% loss in AIRTEL share price, 0.28% loss in ICON share price and an insignificant loss in NBM of 1 tambala. “This led to a 0.41% loss in the DSI while the FSI was constant during the period.” said the report.
On the other hand, MSE said it has implemented a comprehensive business continuity plan to curb risks that the pandemic will have on trading. Meanwhile, stakeholders are also advised to make electronic submissions of documents as the exchange will not be accepting hard copies until further notice.
