MRA’s Head of Corporate Affairs, Steven Kapoloma, presented to parliament that Malawi’s tax administration system called Msonkho Online, will roll-out in December, 2019.

Kapoloma told the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament that Msonkho Online will facilitate systematic management of taxpayer compliance obligations with more real time transaction like electronic submission of tax returns, among other services.

It is reported that under the system, tax payers are required to submit email and physical addresses, phone numbers, bank account and mobile money account details.

MRA Director of Information and Communication Technology Max Mlomba remarked the upcoming development as convenient, since the current online payment still requires payers to visit the MRA offices.
