The Chief Executive Officer of the National Bank of Malawi (NBM), Macfussy Kawawa, awarded the staff of Mulanje Service Centre for an excellent internal audit score of 82% in 2019 from 59% in 2018.
Kawawa said the achievement is exceptional and deserves special recognition and celebration. “I am very appreciative of your commitment to the Bank and encourage you to use this attainment as a stepping stone towards achievement of even greater things as individuals and as a team. As NBM Plc family, we are truly proud of you and wish you well in your work” Kawawa said, speaking to the staff.
The Manager for the Mulanje Service Centre, Chifundo Kamwinda attributed the excellent audit result to team work. We have intensive sectional meetings to check on each other on how the sections are doing. All challenges and knowledge gaps are identified through these team leaders’ meetings and we all undertake to solve all challenges irrespective of positions or who was responsible for the unit” said Kamwinda.
NBM recently launched an innovation where customers will be withdrawing cash on its Automated Teller Machines (ATM) without a card. NBM Head of Cards and e-Banking, William Kaunda, outlined that customers will generate a one time pin on the bank’s Mo626 Digital Plus mobile application and send it to a phone number that will be queried by the ATM during the transaction.
