Upon the election of Edgar Chibaka as the new chairperson for the Malawi-United Kingdom (UK) Business Group, Chibaka has called on the UK Government to provide opportunities for Malawian businesses based in the UK
On the other hand, Chibaka has urged the Malawi Government to review policies that are stifling investment. Speaking to The Nation newspaper, Chibaka outlined that the group is also calling on the UK Government to remove some tariffs and legislation that Malawian businesses.
According to Chibaka’s Vice, David Smith, the group will work with 9000+ Malawians based in the UK, on skills creation and job development. In similar news, last week Castel Malawi announced a partnership with a United Kingdom (UK)-based firm Jacobs and Wells, a development that will see Castel exporting Malawi Gin, to Europe. Jacobs and Wells director Alex Sukali outlined that the company, using an initiative called Experience Malawi, will avail the locally brewed spirits to the international market.
