A chart by World Bank’s report known as Africa’s Pulse, has shown that Malawi, Botswana, Namibia, South African and Nigeria are slipping, in regards of development.
The chart is portraying growth performance, categorized African countries developments into the following stages; falling behind, slipping, stuck in the middle, improved and established.
Malawi falls under the slipping categorized Malawi as slipping, citing bad governance and public indebtedness as some of the key factors.
One of the economic indicators that Malawi has been keen on is infrastructure; road construction and reconstruction, as well as the Bingu international stadium and other proposed infrastructure projects. However, some projects remain in limbo; not a brick laid.
Blantyre has buildings that were marked for demolition, to build international standard infrastructure, but nothing has been done since the red star symbol mark was commenced in January 2016 by President Peter Mutharika.
