The Ministry of Health has confirmed that 30, 000 test kits from Global Fund will arrive in Malawi by the end of this month, as the country currently has less than 10,000 testing kits.
Speaking to Zodiak Broadcasting Station, the Ministry’s Principal Secretary, Dr. Charles Mwansambo said that the reopening of airports and schools will increase the need for more test kits, as only 300 tests are taking place per day.
As of 4:17pm yesterday, Malawi registered 5621 cases, 3,590 recoveries and 176 deaths. Primary and Secondary schools reopened this week, as schools are observing strict measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
