Malawi has received a €3 million (about K2,750,033,400) boost in the country’s fight against Covid-19.
The provision arrives courtesy the European Union (EU) delegation to Malawi, the European Investment Bank, German and Irish embassies. “The EU delegation, the European Investment Bank and the German and Irish embassies sat together to devise a joint support package” said EU Head of Cooperation Ivo Hoefkens confirmed the development.
Hoefkens said the money would also be used for supporting the government’s program on social cash transfers, temporarily targeting vulnerable households in urban areas, and the school-feeding program.
As of 1pm today, Malawi registered 20,830 Coronavirus Cases, 540 Deaths and 7005 recoveries.
