Roads Fund Administration Board Chairperson, Chancy Gondwe said procurements are awarded to the lowest price bidder, so most road have low levels of sustainability because there is keen emphasis is minimising costs.
The Ministry of Transport and Public works has revealed that K2 billion has been set aside to repair roads that were damaged due to the 2018/2019 rainy season. The above was announced in Thyolo by Minister Jappie Mhango, who also called on the private sector to invest in the construction industry to provide necessary construction machinery.
