As support against the fight against the coronavirus pandemic in Malawi, MyBucks Banking Corporation donated items worth K2 million to Kamuzu Central Hospital.
The bank’s Chief Operations Officer, Sam Kamkosi, presented Oxygen Concentrators, pulse oximeters, glucometers, test strips and more to the hospital’s Director, Dr. Jonathan Ngoma, who expressed happiness over the donation as the hospital manages a lot of patients from the country. “As a bank committed to making social impact towards the society in which we operate, we understand how Covid-19 has affected the society at large today and also went a step further to also support the customers that we serve.” said Kamkosi, “We recognise the critical times that the society and our customers are facing, such as sporadic cash flows in their businesses.”.
Also applying the fight against home in its banking halls, strict social distancing measures are being observed as hand sanitizers are on the door steps of all branches across the country. Kamkosi also announced that considering the pandemic, The bank is also providing a three month moratorium on interest and principal repayments for loans by borrowers on a case by case basis, as directed by RBM. “We have also slashed our charges on interest and mobile banking by 40% in order to lessen traffic in banking halls and keep all our customers safe.” said the bank’s Chief Operations Officer. In his closing remarks, Kamkosi recognized and honored health personnel at the hospital and all over the country for their continued support and being in the front line in the fight against Covid-19. “You are our real heroes in these tough times, we salute you and may God bless you abundantly.” he said.
