Nacala Logistics donated items worth K398 million to the government to help towards the fight against Covid-19, as the firm presented the donation to Minister of Health, Jappie Mhango.
Nacala Logistics Director, Gustavo Stein, attributed the donation to help as part of its corporate social responsibility.
The private sector has been active in helping fight against the pandemic, contributing protective gear and food items. However, the private sector has also been negatively affected by the outbreak, but the sector has committed to giving to the cause, regardless. Mhango thanked the firm for the donation, stating that combined efforts by the government and the private sector are key in fighting against the virus.
Malawi has thus far recorded 41 coronavirus cases, 9 recoveries and 3 deaths.
