National Bank is amidst to lay off employees to reduce its operational costs.

The bank has communicated to its employees by letter, about what is being called voluntary retrenchment.

The bank, in the past years, has touted being the biggest commercial bank by assets and profitability. With the current retrenchment announcement, the magnitude of its lack of operational expenses is not known as the actual number of how many will be retrenched remains undisclosed.
