The National Bank of Malawi (NBM) has dismissed circulating vacancies as fake news, as Social Media has seen posts that claim that the bank is recruiting bank clerks and cashiers.
Management of the bank has released a statement that is dismissing the news as fake, with a reminder of how vacancies are carried out by the bank. “The Bank would like to inform members of the general public that it advertises job vacancies through the major print media and the bank’s website.”
In other news, NBM launched a development bank last week, that is aimed to provide long-term financing for small and medium enterprises and other life-changing investments.
According to NBM Development Bank Limited Chairperson MacFussy Kawawa, the bank is expected to be providing loans ranging from K15 million to K150 million and K200 million in exceptional circumstances, with a grace period of two years and interest rates from 15 to 18%..
