National Bank of Malawi Plc has given a K2 million sponsorship towards the Economic Association of Malawi  (ECAMA) conference which is happening from 7 to 8 November 2019, themed ‘Population Growth; Challenges and Opportunities for Economic Development’.

Handing over the cheque, the NB Head of Operations, Brian Boby, said that ECAMA must come up with economic solutions to deal with the population growth in the country, as the theme is aimed at discussing the current population of Malawi, which is 18.63 million, according to figures from the National Statistics Office (NSO) latest census. which ranks 63rd in the world.

According to ECAMA Vice Secretary General, Esnart Suleman, the conference will attract various economists from the private sector and Non-Governmental Organizations. “This is where we are going to come up with practical solutions to population growth” she daid.
