NBS Bank plc held a health week aimed at promoting healthy lives of its employees. During the week, NBS staff were provided with voluntary checkups.
NBS Bank Chief Executive Officer Kwanele Ngwenya said the development was to inspire a healthy workforce that was key to the delivery of a healthy bottom line. He said that the bank pays attention to its employees health. “We would like to promote preventative health care because early detection of any disease gives anybody the best chance for getting the right treatment quickly, thereby avoiding any complications.”
The Ministry of Health, with the Malawi Aids Counselling and Resources Organization, conducted the checkups, including tuberculosis screening, sexually transmitted infections screening, malaria testing, body mass index calculation, diabetes screening and blood pressure checking.
