NBS Bank has donated towards families affected by floods that were brought about by Cyclone Idai.

NBS Bank Chief Executive Officer, Kwanele Ngwenya, presented a K5 million cheque to the Malawi Red Cross. “The flood is a disaster to us as a bank as well since it affected the very people that support us.” said Ngwenya.

Red Cross Malawi President Levision Changola thanked the bank for the donation, stating that he was overwhelmed by the support from local organisations in the corporate world.

NBS banks donation counts as part of a collective of K14.5 billion from various well wishers, almost half of the K33.4 billion that the disaster department said it needs to restore the lives of affected households.
